8-Year-Old Victim Identified, Dad Was Running In Boston Marathon

The child who was killed in the bombings that erupted in Boston on Monday afternoon has been identified as Martin Richard, an 8-year-old boy whose father was running in the Boston Marathon.
Richard was identified by the Boston Globe through a series of tweets late Monday evening. According to the Globe, Richard was waiting near the finish line with his sister and his mother, Denise Richard, as the boy's father, William Richard, ran in the race. Denise Richard and her daughter, who has not been identified, are reportedly being treated for "grievous injuries," according to the Globe. A second daughter, also unidentified, was reportedly unharmed

A candle was placed outside the Dorchester home of the family on Monday while the word "Peace" was written in chalk on the front sidewalk, the Associated Press reported.
