2. I know. Saw him on CNN. I cannot believe he got up and finished the race, instead of helping others.

He was totally focused on the race. He finished his race, then walked home to his wife. This floored Piers Morgan, who asked what he thought when he saw the news at home and saw that this was a big deal. Oh, yeah, it was something, he says (or something like that). As if to say....ho-hum. He said at one point he recognized the bomb going off when it knocked him off his feet. Because, you know, that doesn't happen all the time.

He was totally not engaged and didn't seem shocked by the incident at all. Just that he finished his race. He's been in over 40 marathons.

I now realize that this running thing IS an addiction for some.

that he must be in some kind of shock. I have noticed, though, that any runner (that I"ve heard) interviewed seemed to have a lot more to say about their event and their running or finishing time than about the explosions, which seemed to be a secondary part of the story to them.

5. Shock is different for different people.

Some people don't show it for hours. Some people in shock can't even comprehend what happened for periods of time. On the other hand, some people know their limits and maybe he knew he wasn't up to helping and wanted to get to his family. Maybe he wanted to get out of the way of others. You can't know the mind of an individual as if they think the same as we do.
