People told to be on the lookout for dark skinned or black man with a black backpack.

Possible foreign accent. He tried to get into a restricted area 5 minutes before the first bombing and, when turned away, broke eye contact and pull his hood on and left. CNN

Hard to know if it's retroactive fear talking or a real guy. Honestly, if I matched anything LIKE that description I'd either walk into the nearest police station and say "How can I help?" or go home for a while.

The identity and motivation of the bomber or bombers is still unknown, but local CBS affiliate WBZ reported that a suspect was being questioned, and that authorities have security video showing a male suspect carrying multiple backpacks, and dropping one at the site of the explosion.

At 8 p.m., police released a statement asking people to be on the look out for a darker-skinned male with a black backpack who had been trying to gain access to a restricted area shortly before the blasts.

No doubt more will pick up on this shortly.

This is far more likely to inflame racial tensions than it is to catch the suspect.

the police (?) or some type of law enforcement person has been interviewing a woman who had been photographing in that area from 9am on. From what I gather, she is some type of professional photographer, so they are hoping to find something, anything, that might lead them to identifying a suspicious person or activity.

In addition to her pics, there are probably lots of others from bystanders as well. Hopefully, some hint will come out of them.
