White House: Boston Explosion ‘Appears To Be’ Terror Attack

The explosions that struck the Boston marathon on Monday "appear" to be to a terrorist attack, according to the White House.

"Any event with multiple explosive devices -- as this appears to be -- is clearly an act of terror, and will be approached as an act of terror," the official said in a statement, according to Politico.

"We don’t yet know who carried out this attack, and a thorough investigation will have to determine whether it was planned and carried out by a terrorist group, foreign or domestic," the official added.

Addressing the nation on the attacks, President Barack Obama also urged the American people to show restraint before all of the facts have emerged.

Past events indicate you seem to be able to get your heads around domestic but not blowback.

Just a matter of whether it was foreign or domestic terrorism. Many think of terrorism and associate it with a foreign individual or group responsible, but Timothy McVeigh was just as much a terrorist as Osama Bin Laden.

You don't pack explosives with ball bearings for any other reason than to exact as much damage to people as possible.

Foreign religious nutbags or domestic non-religious nutbags (or any combination between), it was ideologically driven terror.

It was probably more than a lone wolf. Probably one for each bomb? I doubt that it was someone angry that it was tax day - they would have simply bombed the IRS building - not attempted to kill fellow American taxpayers. This would be the act of foreign terrorists, in my opinion. (I realize that McVeigh was not a foreigner)

Of course, it was someone familiar with where the Boston Marathon ended. (Not everyone knows that)
Why did they wait until the marathon was almost over? The bombs could very well have been planted after the race had started?

This is just my read but it was clearly an act of terror, no matter with whom it originated.

They speculated that after Benghazi he was being very cautious in parsing words using the word terror. They have a point anything happens anywhere you have Republican harpies wanting political linkage. In his response Obama did pitch a bipartisan wish blurb that on these times we are not Democrats or Republicans. My first thought was; just wait someone will try to stick this to Presidential failure in preventing terrorism. Beside the actual attack the need to press blame with incessant harping is a separate act of terrorism in itself.

Call this despicable act no matter who did it what ever you want: Terrorism, murder, slaughter, chaos, anarchy, crime against humanity.
