I sincerely apologize

I posted my annual "joke" thread about the Boston Marathon this morning. I was totally unaware of the horrific tragedy until my wife texted me this afternoon. I have no access to DU at work. I have self-deleted both threads (GD and The Lounge).

I am very sorry for anyone that I offended. I am offended. It was an honest mistake but one that will never be made again.

My having run 4 marathons gives my opinion no greater relevance other than the first thing my wife said to me when I got home was "WE (her and our daughter) are the type of people that were probably there" We hugged our daughter sooooo tight.

Again, I am sorry.

morning and it made me smile. I understand your feelings of remorse, but I cannot imagine that anyone here would feel it was anything other than an unfortunate confluence of events.

Take care.

apologize. How often do all of us joke about events that a large number of people will be attending? None of us joke about hurting people or murder, typically the joke are about the types of people that go to the events, or one of the teams playing, ect. I think the New York Jets and Giants suck, but I wouldn't want to see any of their players or fans hurt, I am sure Jets and Giants fans feel the same about the Patriots and me.

I responded in one of your threads with an lol, but how could I have known? I had just come back from a 3.5 mile run in the park, turned on the tv, and I was just devastated to hear the news.
