CNN: "Breaking News: Obama statement doesn't say 'terror'" (Original Post) Newsjock Apr 2013 OP
"Terrorism" is specifically defined, that's why. This could "just" be attempted mass murder. Poll_Blind Apr 2013 #1

I know that sounds odd but this has come up before in regards to instances in which the motivations behind mass violence are yet unknown.

It can't believe somebody gets paid a bazillion dollars a year to comment on whether or not the President uses the word "terror" in a speech.

Of course if it's Wolf we're talking about here, I can't believe anybody pays him at all.

"News = billionaires paying millionaires to convince middle class people to blame poor people"

if it's not committed by Muslims/Arabs. Domestic terrorists don't count, in his book.

I was just telling someone some idiot CNN reporter they piped into the local radio to intro the President's address said that one thing for sure was that Obama would definitely call it terrorism, because some time ago, he failed to call an attack terrorism, which was a real problem for him.

Benghazi, of course. Which he did call terrorism, but which, as we will recall, was turned into a RW frenzy / fake scandal, that ultimately blew up in Romney's face in a presidential debate, when the moderator confirmed Obama had called Benghazi terrorism.

This is the kind of stupid we must deal with now. Every day, on every issue. Stupid people, saying stupid things for stupid reasons.

I really thought this was one of those CNN "joke" threads we all like to post now and then. Jeebus, how ridiculous. We already know how pathetic CNN has become, and especially how Blitzer is, but this is a special kind of facepalm.

We don't know at this point what the fucking deal is, who's responsible and why. Given that it's tax day and given the proximity to the anniversaries of both Waco and Oklahoma City, I have my own guesses. But anything at this point is just random speculation. And I hope the FBI doesn't pull a "Jewell" in this case, as they did for the '96 Atlanta Olympics bombing. Unfortunately, I wouldn't be at all surprised if it did, given its history and culture.
