That's how it's intended to be used, especially if it turns out that some right-wing group turns out to have done this.

While the right-wingers are in court, and getting lambasted by the media, Prison Planet and Infowars will be screaming about how the gubmit is persecuting innocent people while news of the "real killer" is silence. IT'S A CONSPIRACY I TELL YOU!

Just wondering. I saw the presser and I guess that guy was the chief so no need to put it in quotes.

and given the fact the source was the New York Post and nobody else was reporting this, it is no surprise it was not true.
