Speculation, and labeled as such

The wrinkle of shutting down Boston cell service to prevent remote IED detonation is fascinating. Musharraf's life has been saved more than once by local cell-phone jamming by his motorcade, but the wrinkle of shutting down service from the top is wild. A great idea, while also a disaster... tricky decission. I probably would have made that decission, despite the panic factor of nobody being able to check on loved ones...

Funny -- with staggered explosions you could have a situation where an attacker might not be able to trigger a subsequent device because service locks up naturally... you know, the way cell phones get jammed after a bomb, earthquake, etc, because everyone is calling at once.

I wonder in what time frame the most people cross the finish line. Suspect it was timed for that calculation (whether the calculation was accurate or not... one could get confused by the *average* runner's time, which wouldn't necessarily be the biggest lump of finishers.)

This is tax day.

Just thoughts... and labeled as such. Just water-cooler talk here, albeit in text form.

(Though I refuse to play the Muslims versus rednecks game. I have no evidence and no idea.)
