Here's the thing. There are certain dems we love & respect for their courage & ability to speak

truth to power on behalf of WE the people. We all know who they are, i.e., Bernie Sanders, Alan Grayson, Elizabeth Warren, I could go on, but you all know those names. Sadly, no matter how you serve up what's been taking place, there is one fact. Our democracy is an oligarchy & those in power serve the elite monied interest of the few.

In stages, and with every concession, every bargain struck, it is abundantly clear that our wishes are ignored, our best interest is not at heart. We are asked to believe in a jobless recovery, we are hit with austerity aka sequestration, but somehow the pigs with lipstick, defense and the banks, are given a free pass. Hell, we are asked to fund too big to fails, grant tax cuts to the wealthiest that hide their money overseas, our SCOTUS has granted personhood to the lobbying sect, the biggest campaign funders who buy law and politicians.
Elections are rife with fraud, we are asked to believe that the very rules we follow in other countries to ensure the sanctity of the vote simply do not apply here. No laws enacted, no changes made to ensure we fix what's broken.

We thought in 2008 we had finally said goodbye to criminality and lack of accountability, a return to rule of law would now be the new beginning with the new administration. Transparency in gov't, no more illegal wars, all would be well. We were shocked when we learned we should only look forward. There would be no digging deeper into the crimes (and they are/were many). It was not hard to realize who had brought us all to the almost toppling of the economy/country. Everyone stood behind POTUS, we understood it was going to take time, money and energy to clean the chaos and destruction left behind. We stood strong and supported our president. We were proud of what he represented, being the first black man elected to the highest office. Afterall, we are a proud nation, we knew there was much to be done.

Today, we look at what not looking back has wrought. Crime seems rampant, corruption is uncovered daily in every facet of our existence. Could it be that there is an understanding that only blue collar crime is made accountable? The prison systems are certainly thriving, and Eric Holder seems to feel bankers being held accountable would further ruin the nation.

Meanwhile, many who come to DU are scorned if they speak up and ask if we truly are being served? We are scorned by fellow DU'ers for stirring the pot. So many here are fed up with the blue dogs, fed up with the corporate interests that keep us all too busy striving to feed and clothe our families, lest we suddenly take a breath and realize we are no better than slaves.

Would you have us all be content with the status quo? Why even come to this board/forums at all? If you are not willing to speak truth to power, even here, even against when our president is one of our own, a democrat, than what are we here for? DINO is killing the party, middle of the road is bringing more of the same. We HAVE a set of democratic values that we have always held and measured with the highest of pride...and now we should silence that voice?

Then, why voice an opinion over anyone or anything? The oligarchy must be working. One cannot demand representation, and then say we need to primary the bums out in 2014. If we are to have a real "primary the bastards", we had better be loud & clear. We had better make damned well sure that the masses get the real message. NO MORE of this status quo and stagnation. We can do so much better than this.

You may now tune to your regular stations.

you listed who the MSM chooses not to feature.

Not that I don't agree with much of your OP but seriously?

and no, I don't feel any need at all to primary my rep in 2014. He's a progressive and he's been fighting the good fight.

free to add them. Nothing wrong with giving kudos.

Certainly, if our reps are serving our needs, we wouldn't want to primary them. We have to use our common sense and values on which ones to primary .
