The Religious Right Wants To Take Over Government And Run The Country Their Way

They are infiltrating anywhere they can. They still seem to be dedicated to making this country a Christian Bible based country. The fact that they are able to continue to get anti women, anti abortion and anti contraception laws moving forward should be a warning.

... and you can look that term up if you're not sure what it means.

The real threat is the aristocrats. Those with the wealth and the dark will to leverage that wealth to control the means of generating new wealth.

The aristocrats use the religious right the same way they use libertarians, gun nuts, racists, and so many others. They motivate them, primarily through fear but partly through false messaging, to vote and act against their own best interests.

Don't fear the moron clutching his Bible or his gun. Fear the Koch brothers standing behind him with $50 billion dollars and will to use it.

they will use whatever group who pledges extreme loyalty to their own cause but in reality ends up being useful pawns to the wealthy barons who have so much but want it all. They love the vote they can get from the Bible bunch. They know if they swing a few words around like abortion, birth control etc the BB's will vote in their favor. What they don't know is the one they vote for is just another one of the wealthy,by the wealthy and for the wealthy. They get groups stirred up about guns or that ever popular word FREEDOM and those groups will protest with mouth and signs(often misspelled). Again the real agenda is closer to a financial gain which IS their freedom.
It's scary that the more they talk about freedom the more kinds of freedom we lose.
Now is not the time to jump ship. But it is time to batten down the hatches and be very aware of who is running the ship and what direction that ship is going to. We have encountered many storms through the years. AT times it seems that we were on the verge of sinking or at least getting caught on some very sharp rocks. No time does a ship ever always have smooth sailing. But we must get that compass out and get our crew convinced what direction to take. We can make phone calls,go to meetings, vote the way we see fit--but we can't just throw out hands up and start all over. Time is too precious and so are those we are trying to help--the seniors, disabled, homeless, out of work--the average guy--just the opposite of whom the wealthy block wants to eliminate one way or another.

[font color="navy" face="Verdana"]So what else is new?

What's new is that the overall population is moving in a more socially progressive direction, away from them.

In politics and everyday life!

I am all for people living in a way that makes them happy. However, please do not go telling me that the life that makes me happy is not making me happy. Do not tell me that I am wrong and have to change something that does no harm you or anyone.

Let me pursue my happiness as you are allowed to chase yours.

We liberals, on the other hand, want to take over the country and run it OUR way.

—Mark Rushdoony, son of R.J. Rushdoony[1]

Dominionism (sometimes used interchangeably with Christian Reconstructionism and theonomy, see below) is a political and religious philosophy that seeks to make the United States government a Christian theocracy.[2] (Most Dominionists try to avoid using this name. Regardless, it is usually applied to any Christian movement with these explicit or implicit goals.)

Yes, a government based on faith while ignoring science and reason will rid us of those pesky environmental laws which only serve to impede profits.
