2 killed in fiery Highway 1 crash near Timber Cove
Two people died Saturday morning when the red Ferrari they were riding in crashed and burst into flames on Highway 1 north of Salt Point State Park.
The identities of the sports car’s two occupants, both males, were withheld until authorities could make positive identification and notify next of kin, according to the CHP.
The fire that resulted from the crash was so intense that it damaged the roadway and caused the highway to be closed in both directions for about six hours. Caltrans repaired the road and it reopened about 5 p.m.

Early Sunday blaze engulfs Timber Cove home
A two-story house near Timber Cove burned early Sunday.
No one was home at the time, responding firefighters reported, Sonoma County emergency dispatchers said.
Few other details were available about the 12:48 a.m. blaze, which had fully engulfed the structure when firefighters arrived, dispatchers said.
