Catholic church is pushing shadow family planning.

I am seeing it here in Philadelphia. The Catholic church is starting to run ads about family planning. Very clever and very hip talking about if you have an unplanned pregnancy. what they don't say, of course, is that it pushes women to keep a pregnancy at all costs.

They are recruiting peer counselors who have had miscarriages or kids with developmental delays to talk women into continuing their pregnancy. They are setting up a "family planning" center across from Planned Parenthood to confuse women. They are promoting the Creighton method of natural family planning which sounds scientific but has no peer reviewed studies for efficacy.

They get funding from the state for free ultrasounds which they use to lure women in. They are offering free prenatal counseling from volunteer nurses.

Basically, they are trying to put Planned Parenthood out of business. Anybody else see this is happening in their area?

What can we do about this? The whole thing is masked with a secular hip marketing campaign.

has been going on for at least 40 years...what bothers me is the tax payer money that is being given to these religious groups. It makes me furious. I don't know what to do about it other than making sure people/women know about this and ending the funding for such groups. Maybe someone else has ideas, I hope so.
