I have never seen them, but recently taught a unit that included the Northern Lights. I hope my students get to see them.

especially with overcast skies tonight. Even when it's clear, there's too much light pollution.

displays (during previous solar maximums) from the NYC suburbs, once while driving through the lights on the L.I.E.

Here in Michigan we haven't seen the sun for weeks. It was clear one night last week. But forecast is daily rain through Friday.

Too bad. I've seen awesome aurora here. And I have a fairly dark site. The weather has been utterly sucky. It's still fucking cold and we've had more snow the last couple of nights albeit merely a trace.

Rain!!! We're also under flood warnings through Tuesday.

No aurora for me.
