Lots of moves to go in the next 4 years. Hang in there.. you might be pleased with the final results.

Conversely, if you believe yourself to be a pawn, you will always be one.

That's what happened. Only we weren't playing. If I were playing, there is no way I would simply hand over my queen.

There are actual situations in which sacrificing your queen is a strong move.

9. Yes, and you better be a very good chess player if you are going to risk such a move.

The results of sacrificing the queen in this instance show that the move was not thought out. The results are in. The other side appears to be better at this game. They are now claiming to be the saviors of SS. I would call that a check mate. Of course it was predictable which is why I am saying that the queen was sacrificed without anticipating all the moves that were likely to follow.

Chained CPI -like most items in a Presidential proposal- will go nowhere.

I agree it seems like a bad idea to have proposed it in the first place but the game goes on. I sincerely doubt that Obama is that bad at chess but even the best players make a bone-headed move at times.

We should direct our outrage at real-world problems, not hypotheticals, IMO.

Let the WH know our disappointment and move on to the next problem.
