Joe Arpaio, Arizona Sheriff, Has Explosive Addressed To Him, Intercepted By Authorities

PHOENIX -- Authorities are investigating what was reported to be an explosive device addressed to Arizona's Sheriff Joe Arpaio, the self-proclaimed "toughest sheriff in America" known for his strict treatment of jail inmates and cracking down on illegal immigration.

The device intercepted in Flagstaff late Thursday was in a package addressed to Arpaio at his downtown Phoenix office, the Maricopa County Sheriff's Office said in a statement.

It appeared suspicious, so it was X-rayed and the device was detected. A bomb squad team neutralized the explosive, the statement said.

Postal Inspector Patricia Armstrong said investigators were examining debris from the package. "We don't know if it was an actual device of some sort," she said.

Come on. The liberals/left are better than this. Let him self destruct on his own. applegrove Apr 2013 #1
I would be willing to bet good money he sent the package to himself. Initech Apr 2013 #3

I know a lot of people in Arizona that wish him less than well. Most are Republicans.

We'll just have to wait and see.

As far as letting him self destruct...not gonna happen. Not in this state. He could be caught banging a three headed horse wearing a tutu with the corpse of a dead Mexican in the saddle and they'd say it was an accident because he broke his glasses. Then they'd send him money.

He's a real life version of Zapp Brannagan from Futurama. Just the single biggest representation of self centered egomaniacism, narcissism, douchebaggery, racist, sexist, shit kicking, gun toting asshole - everything that is wrong with society rolled into one package.

I wonder if that's what he has printed on his business card.

You're correct. He is a cartoon character. Just more dangerous.

...true. In Arizona alone he's picked up quite an anti-fan base. Sadly, too many people in this state have enough money and power to protect him.

Welcome!

Problem is, as pointed out by some (Rezmutt) at D.U. is he has done this before.

Charleston (WV) Daily Mail, August 27, 1996, Page 3C

Phil Parlock's experience was less calm.

The Huntington man said he was knocked to the ground by a Clinton supporter when he tried to display a sign that read "Remember Vince Foster," the deputy White House counsel who committed suicide in a Washington, D.C., park. His death has become the subject of much debate among Clinton opponents.

"It must have been a strict Democrat who did this," Parlock said, feeling the red abrasions on his face. "Everyone with the exception of him was real peaceful about our protest."

Parlock said some of the crowd tried to make other anti-Clinton demonstrators feel unwelcome. He estimated that about 150 Dole supporters attended the rally, but their signs couldn't be seen for most of the rally.

Never forget Phil (or his hilarious Hate Mail Bag entries as documented by EarlG - cannot find the hilarious links, though )
