A new term of art . . .

Last edited Fri Apr 12, 2013, 06:33 PM - Edit history (1)

I think it is only fair that, since those of us who express any serious disagreement with anything the President proposes are routinely dismissed as being part of an alleged "Professional Left," we have a parallel term for those who reflexively defend anything the President does or says. Therefore, I propose "Professional Obama Defenders" (or "PODs" or "POD people" for short). Fair enough?

. . . by pointing out how egregious it is to use these kinds of terms in the first place. These labels are divisive (both of them). But for far too many, they only seem to see the divisiveness in one direction.

"We had to destroy the village in order to save it." It was bullshit then, and it's bullshit now.

When a person in the midst of complex policy discussions has to blurt 'Emogprog' they might as well just admit defeat and walk away. There is no need to hurl epithets at people who are even more afraid of and offended by facts, figures, links to authoritative materials than they are of taunts or catcalls. Citation of actual information before these folks is like holding a crucifix up to a vampire, it causes them to shrink and wither.
