I bet most of us get bombarded daily with various candidates and organizations that are looking for my support, both financial and advocacy.
Today, I have UN-SUBSCRIBED from every one of these candidates and organizations -- and the first one was Obama's Organizing for Change. When the sites offer an opportunity to explain my action, I entered "Tell Obama to stop giving away our future."
I know that many of the candidates I canceled today are worthy people who deserve our support. But dammit -- Obama isn't paying a bit of attention to us. But if he hears from enough of his Washington buddies, he will listen.
The next election is 20 months away. There will be plenty of time to support deserving candidates in 2014. Join me in cutting them off now. Every last one of them. Send them the only message they can understand.
And then sit down and enjoy a month or two of clean email in-baskets. Let them consider how they are going to get re-elected if they can't count on the hard work and hard-earned money contributed by the progressive base.

Ron Paul is probably behind this whole thing or some other libertarian.

They all want nothing but money. They get big money from lobbyists but they still beg and grub for our little nickels dimes. It's sickening.

(8,377 posts)It is not just Chained CPI. It is a whole series of cases where Obama has come to the table giving away the most important things before negotiations even start.
This is just the latest thing. Instead of cutting benefits, why aren't we talking about broadening the revenue base that pays into Social Security and Medicare? Even with the negotiation (which I would call mostly a capitulation) on the Bush tax cuts, the rich are still able to launder virtually all of this income at the 20% cap gains rate, and pay absolutely NOTHING to Social Security and Medicare. That is tax fraud, as far as I am concerned. It is just plain wrong. Why is Obama giving away benefit cuts when he should be talking about progressive solutions?
Why did he give up on the Public Option?
Why did he and Reid give up on the filibuster?
Why is he signing on to a gun background check law that leaves the biggest exception (person-to-person sales) wide open?
Why hasn't a single bankster been prosecuted? Reagan prosecuted over 1000 banksters for the S&L crimes, which was only about 10% the magnitude of the 2008 heist.
Etc.
We need to say "enough"!
Even to Elizabeth Warren and Bernie Sanders.
Cut them all off. Make them go to Obama and tell him straight up, "You are killing us, man. You have to stop."
There will be time in 2014 to decide who is worth supporting and who is not.

(317 posts)I have heard conservatives say "Obama is giving away our future.." because of the deficit. Talk specifically about social security and other cuts.
