A glimpse of how protests against chained CPI will go? From the 2012 DNC:

What happens when Democratic voices are raised in opposition to something the "party" wants?

Three minutes and 49 seconds worth of concentrated wisdom on the topic, for ya. If you haven't seen it before, watch it.

What they want to happen is what's going to happen.
Get the picture?

I'm not saying we shouldn't keep fighting against these terrible cuts, but I am saying the President is driving a train- that Ole Grand Bargain Express- and you can throw yourself on the tracks if you like...

But don't be surprised if that train just keeps on rollin'...

I agree, I will never support anyone who betrays us on SS. Democrats do not do that. sabrina 1 Apr 2013 #5

We were hampered by expectations, disappointments, waiting to see the RESULTS of the 'chess games' we are told are being played. And we were wasting time.

From now on we should simply go with the obvious, when a politician acts against the public's interest, such as cutting SS, we should simply accept it on face value, ignore all the painful attempts that are sure to follow, to try to justify it, don't bother arguing with apologists, instead, to quote someone famous, 'don't look back at the past, realize it's time to look forward'. Because what we are so reluctant to accept, a Dem wanting to cut SS, is a fact.

Next move we should be making at that point is to decide 'where do we go from here'. There is no point in signing petitions, making calls, etc. Did Obama eg, even mention all the calls and letters, emails and petitions he got from millions of people regarding these cuts to SS? I don't think so, that tells you how much they care about you.

I'm a 'if you are not interested in a relationship, the feeling is mutual' kind of girl, and it's time to move on.

The battle needs to begin now to start removing from Congress all the imposters in our party.

How do you recognize an imposter? It's easy. No Democrat would ever support cuts to SS or allow anyone to promote the Republican lie that SS had anything to do with the deficit.

So, with that out of the way, with a fail-proof way to identify imposters in our party, it's time to figure out the next step.

Primary season. It doesn't start for a while, but Wall St isn't waiting until next year to start planning to get what THEY want, and neither should we.

The Primaries are our best shot at winning the battle to start the process of replacing all imposters with real Democrats.

What have we done wrong in the past? We need to analyze that as we clearly have done something wrong as we can now clearly see.

I believe I have part of the answer to this question. One thing we do wrong is to support candidates forced on us by the Party Leadership. THEY should not be choosing our candidates, WE SHOULD.

So first step, do not donate money to the party, they get enough from Wall St and don't want us in the party anyhow. Too bad, we're staying, but on our terms from now on.

Donate directly to a candidate we choose AFTER learning as much as possible about him/her.

To help in this effort we now have a united coalition which was formed before the election as a precaution in case Democrats let us down so we would be ready to begin to act as soon as possible. The coalition includes many unions, liberal organizations and other democratic groups who are fed up with being pushed to the side, after their money is taken and their votes secured.

Iow, we need to start right now and not waste any more time on the past, which yesterday already is, disappointments.

It's all well and good to primary those who violate our corp principles, but it needs to go beyond this. If they survive the primary withold your vote.

If YOU vote for someone who cuts social security you are no better than they are. Period. You've got excuses, well so do they. But some things are inexcusable, they are lines that when crossed call for a permanent separation. This is one of those issues.
