If you want your government to go in a particular direction, then you're going to have to get up off your duffs and organize mass support for that direction.
The ordinary American's clout with our government doesn't come by way of money. That's how the oligarchs work. Our clout is established via sheer numbers.
Yes, it hasn't worked ALL the time, but it will never work IF you never try.
Elections are always just the beginning, the hardest work comes after elections end and will always require our vigilant attention.
It's not personal, it's politics and always remember... Politics is a full contact sport.

(23,664 posts)Because I've heard that more than 2 million Americans have contacted or petitioned the President to abandon his plan to cut Social Security benefits and to the best of my knowledge, he has ignored them.
So exactly what is the magic number? 3 million? 5 Million? 50? 100? Does every citizen have to object to this before the White House will withdraw their offer to placate republicans by screwing the elderly?
Build your back up.
This shit ain't supposed to be easy.

If more dems showed up for Congressional elections then we wouldn't be in this mess right now. Without voting its all bark and no bite.
