Look, I despise everything that witch stood for, and when combined with St. Ronnie, you'd be hard pressed to find anyone who is more responsible for tearing the world's economy apart, and shifting more and more of the wealth to the 1%.
But, she was an unapologetic ideologue.
It simply floors me. Imagine the outcry had military force be used to extract ill-gotten wealth from the Romney crowd, or armed police dispatched to "break" the stranglehold the 1% have on this country and the world. But...we sit back and accept when armed government thugs are used to break the backs of middle-class workers, who are either fighting to hold onto their hard won gains, or ensure they can just "effing" live.
Where the "eff" is our Thatcher? Where the "eff" is someone to say, "fuck you 1%-ters"? Where are the Wall Street Barons rioting in the streets and fighting with armed police, because someone finally stood up and said that THEY, and NOT the UNIONS are the one's that need to be busted?
I guess Dylan was right; "Steal a little and they throw you in jail, steal a lot and they make you king".
Fuck the rewritten history of that fucking hag. In a just world, the Romney's of the world would be the ones cowering in front of marching police officers, not the fucking miners!

(4,868 posts)If they become too big the DLC'ers and party hacks mock them until they become a joke.
Howard Dean was a threat so the media destroyed him.
Kucinich spoke truth to power so he became a "nut job" and "too far left"
Bernie Sanders spoke out against entitlement cuts yesterday and Chris Mathews mocked him on his show.
We eat our own.

(11,464 posts)I think though the example would be to want LBJ in the Senate to help the president ram things through
Why would someone want Margaret Thatcher or Ronald Reagan?
Had the great LBJ (the most liberal progressive president ever) been on the ballot Nov.1968, Reagan never would have become president.
Had it not been for the vietnam war, then nixon, ford, reagan and the two bushies would never had the presidency. LBJ had the lowest unemployment rate as in a presidency as of current. But he screwed the democrats over by putting the army into vietnam. Had he never got into that debacle then the democrats would of won more. Same as if bill clinton never had that scandal. We could of avoided two terms of bush.

(15,323 posts)someone, ANYONE, who will fight with the same ruthlessness for the Middle Class and poor, that the right uses to fight for the 1%.
That's all.
Why is it that it is always the Union members that are getting their teeth kicked in, and not the bastards who caused the problems?

(82,383 posts)The herding cats saying comes to mind.
The left is said by the right to be "authoritarian" but they are thinking of hardline communists like the Soviets, China.
In the US though, the left is tolerant, live and let live. The right may want to impose their version of religion on everyone, for example, while the left will not, and allow the right to do their thing. Easier for the ones who want to impose to find an authoritarian leader. And so it is more likely their leaders will be authoritarians.
Toward the left we are more open minded. Look how close minded and stubborn right wing leaders are.
