So all the Democrats running for the House in 2014 will be forced, from the get go...

to distance themselves from the president.

Before they get a chance to introduce themselves, define themselves, they will be put on the defensive.

Meanwhile, the GOP incumbents can flood the district with "franked" mailings about how much they are doing to protect Social Security, praise the program, point out that they support tax cuts not benefit cuts.

Kind of hard to run as being a member of the party that wants to protect your social security and medicare from the vultures on Wall Street and DC when the leader of your party is coming up with shit like this. Republicans get a win-win. They get the cuts they wanted and they get to place the blame on Obama. Obama completely dropped the ball here.

And what a great position that is to be in. NOT.

I am so disgusted.

This may well mean the end of our hopes of taking back the House.

And with the number of Dems retiring in the Senate, we might have to kiss that goodbye.

Unbelievable.

Maybe Reid was right not to pursue filibuster reform. In two short years, it's possible the Dems will be the minority in the Senate.

They have to distance themselves from the President on Social Security AND on gun control.

I was optimistic we could maintain control of the Senate and pick up some House seats even with the gun control issue, now that the threat of a new AWB and magazine ban were stripped.

But now that they've piled on with this chained-CPI bullshit, I'm not feeling so good about 2014.

If there's one thing we can count on, it's the GOP fielding at least a few incompetent candidates!
