Hand-wringers just move along. This thread is about the Positives.

I hate the whole "catfood" meme... as if there was something wrong with catfood.

Do you want to know how to play the Piano? I dare say that if this Chicken Pate can teach a cat who barely even has fingers to play the piano there's no telling what benefits it holds for humans.

And seriously... when was the last time you sat down to something that looked this good?

Can you afford "Natural Planet Organics"... whatever they are? I doubt that I can, but when this catfood assistance program that all the naysayers are talking about kicks in I may be able to eat healthy for the first time in my life.

Most of the propaganda here is a tiresome relic of the bad old days when cats ate mostly fish-heads and bugs.

Today's cats eat things like Tiki Cat (tm) Puka Puka Luau Chicken in Chicken Consomme

cats are free. Granny can't afford chicken? Give her a cat. An added benefit is that Granny can stay warm cheaper.

I buy the Weruva and sometimes the Lotus (cats don't like it too much) for our spoiled kitties, and let me tell you something: That stuff is pretty expensive. We spend 150 bucks a month on cat food, and the quantities would have to be doubled to feed hubby and me. Thankfully, we don't have to live off SS just yet, although hubby IS getting his 22 days furlough starting next month...... Someone isn't going to eat then....cats or us? Decisions, decisions.

Now that it's been put on the table. Something will get through. Don't worry catfood is our future...or Solent Green.

The OP on this also seems to think Chained CPI is a good idea - unless they forgot their sarcasm emoticon on another thread I responded to.

But who am I? Who cares. Just a high earner that believes I should pay into social security past May 17th this year but a bunch of jackasses think stealing my mom's social security is a better idea.

Eh? Looks like the Mountains and the jackasses always win.

So, to engage in some hand-ringing.....I suspect the Obama SS cuts will translate into 9 Lives or generic store brands.

Maybe, at the next Washington shindig, we should cater in catfood inspired cuisine, and only afterwards tell them what they've eaten?

Hey, I've seen the judges on Chopped eat some really disgusting stuff. Catfood would be a step up from goat brains, for example.
