Well, let's avoid a series of contradictory statements at least and go for the logical premise that we can then debate from.

Actually, you can argue this point, but what we call the "ego" thrives on arguments and conflicts of all kinds. It's like ego food. No matter how much people complain and say they want peace, harmony, understanding, etc., our degree of insecurity about our actual existence, (which is questionable on scientific and other grounds) compels us to resort to finding problems, disagreements and conflict in order to reassure our trembling, little and transient persona that we are real. It is like getting attention as a child. Good? Bad? I WANT ATTENTION DAMN IT!
