Damn, I wish the Occupy Movement hadn't petered out.

Any chance of a revival? We really need some kind of presence in the streets to demonstrate our outrage at any and all who are pushing austerity for the 99% and no regulation of the 1%.

We also need some media on this issue. Even MSNBC seems to be wishy, washy these days.

I'm so discouraged.

Department of Homeland Security (part of the Obama Administration, no less) was complicit in stifling the movement. Another reason to be discouraged.

This Administration obviously does not want to hear our voices.

my experiences with general assemblies in my city was uniformly *terrible*. eventually i stopped even showing up to the actions because the g.a. trolls always there, still pretending there was anything horizontal about the supposed 'democracy' of the organizational model when really it was tyranny of those with the most free time and the loudest mouth.

The Tea Party succeeded because it was financed by secretive millionaires, and was focused on ONE thing.. getting democrats OUT of their congressional seats.. That was why is was started up in August, so they could stage their mayhem at the meetings/townhalls during a time when the DC media folks had little else to report on (DC "closes" every August)

Occupy was a meandering miasma that never really defined itself.

It's the same reason why most liberal parades/protests are not covered affirmatively.. There are too many "distractions" that media glombs onto.. the hippiechicks...the puppets...nudity...profanity.... the obvious provocateurs.. Issues co-mingled with every other issue..

Tea Party events were carefully staged and focused..

The owners didn't like that the message was catching on so they sent their soldier cops to smash the movement.

OWS is still around but the big demonstrations are done. Outlawed now in most places and will be met with outrageous violence otherwise.

America is pretty much done now. Most of it was an illusion anyway.
