Jews Still Planning to Sue Jimmy Carter over Anti-Israel Book

The five plaintiffs are seeking at least $5 million in compensation. The hard cover edition cost $27.

Asserting that no individual has done more than former President Jimmy Carter to defame Israel and to challenge its right to exist, a group of readers filed a class action suit against Carter and the Simon & Schuster publishing company, back in February, 2011, alleging that Carter’s book, “Palestine: Peace Not Apartheid,” contains numerous false and knowingly misleading statements intended to promote the author’s agenda of anti-Israel propaganda and to deceive the reading public instead of presenting accurate information as advertised.

The suit, Unterberg et al. v. Jimmy Carter et.al (11 cv 0720), filed in the United States District Court for the Southern District of New York in February, 2011, sought compensatory and punitive damages against the defendants.

The five plaintiffs named in the lawsuit are seeking at least $5 million in compensation. The hard cover edition cost $27.

about Jews and Israelis.

And isn't interesting that he gets all his information from Israeli and Jewish free press.

Now, try to find some stories about the Middle East, the Congo, Singapore - from newspapers in these countries criticizing the governments and live to tell about it?

One thing is for sure. If it wasn't for religion, the Israel/Palestine problem would have solved decades ago. Both parties make the totally delusional claim that god gave them the land.

In this, Hitchens was right on target. Religion poisons everything.

10. Would you have the same opinion about Lebanon?

The country, that is.

What about the Vatican providing cover to all the pedophiles priests? Spain during the time of the Inquisition?

Really interesting how Israel is the lightening rod for whatever ails the world.

13. Well, Israel/Palestine was the subject of the post.

But I'd gladly chime in on other topics like Ireland, Pakistan, the Crusades, etc. but my purpose was to stay in context.

Nota bene: you may notice that my post did not assign any blame other than religion in general. In that respect I was quite ecumenical. Both the Palestinians and Israel are equally to blame. It's interesting that you presumed that I was somehow against Israel, when I thought I was fairly clear that it's both side's problem.

Religion is the problem in Israel/Palestine. As it was in Lebanon, and the former Yugoslavia, and in Ireland, and in Pakistan/India, and Sri Lanka, and ad infinitum.

Surely, I don't have to bring up the US Republican Party here as yet another exemplar, do I?

The mixture of religion and government is universally poisonous. Always!

right to exist?

Talk about going over the top! I would say that plenty of individuals from David Duke to Ahmadinejad had done a LOT more to challenge the right of Israel to exist!

Carter helped to broker peace between Israel and Egypt in the 1970s, and as such his actions promoted Israel's right to exist, rather than the reverse.

P.S. the headline is very weird and misleading, as it makes it sound as if ALL Jews were suing Jimmy Carter!
