Moving roughly 1/4 of it's jobs to the right to work state. Good paying family supporting jobs down the tubes, a traditionally democratic town, once put in Sarah Palins "crosshairs map", is paying a terrible price for this party not standing up for its values.

ERIE, Pa.
Western Pennsylvania officials say GE Transportation could move as many as 950 jobs to the company's new facility in Fort Worth, Texas.
The Erie Times-News (http://bit.ly/16MHn3f ) reports that County Executive Barry Grossman delivered the news Tuesday morning.
GE Transportation is Erie's largest employer. The company says in a statement that the proposed transfer of work is subject to a 60-day bargaining process with UE Local 506. Depending on negotiations and economic conditions about 950 employees in Erie could be impacted from October of this year through 2014.
GE Transportation builds coal mining equipment and has been hit by a slump in the mining business.
Local unions say nonunion employees in Fort Worth earn substantially less than their union counterparts in Erie.

It's a shame GE wants right to work corporate perks and non-union wages. Bastards.

(19,429 posts)In fact, according to a story in todays Fort Worth Star-Telegram, the company expects to add only about 160 jobs at its new facility in Fort Worth.
Coal mining is on its way out in the US. Production of mining equipment is at odds with environmental regulations to control greenhouse gas emissions.
