Honestly, I was thinking he might remove the chained CPI shit before releasing his budget.

Time for a huge acetaminophen.

On the plus side, Obama has finally succeeded in uniting Washington and America…
in opposition to his budget.

I never bought into the claims of his liberalness. But what happened to his supposed political savvy? This is beyond dumb.

in a state of constant disappointment and disbelief.

As more and more democrats have fewer and fewer expectations, they are becoming more and more motivated to think about their own futures. There is no point in wasting time and energy on expecting much from this president anymore. We know now what to expect from him. If at some point he does something he promised to do while campaigning, that will be nice. But generally speaking I don't pay much attention to his promises, anymore than I do to any politician.

Now we are free to start planning the future. We are in a bad relationship with our party and we need to take control of the situation. Since few democrats feel any loyalty or obligation to those who have betrayed us, we can begin to work for ourselves, since few in DC are currently doing so.

I'm beginning to like this newfound freedom from expectations.

A relative handful of us have been malcontents for years. It's like Obama crossed the Rubicon with the chained cpi, however. Many who complained intermittently but then kept going along are suddenly unwilling to cross that shallow river.

This is good. The Democratic Party is visibly ready to fracture. I think the malcontents are reaching a critical mass. We should be demanding that the party return to its New Deal roots or suffer the departure of those who can no longer tolerate the present course.
