Is only a problem for these people when there is a person with a D after their name in charge? The debt didn't bother them under Ronnie Raygun or Bush I, but as soon as Clinton was elected, it became the biggest problem in the country. So big it required a boot to the neck of so called "welfare moms" and just about every other group it's so easy to kick. So Clinton, like any good third way-er gave them what they wanted. Cut to Bush the lesser's appointment and it's just not a problem anymore so he cuts taxes for his buddies, enablers and anyone not eeking out a lowly existence and he runs up the debt - again.

But it wasn't a problem when he did it. Then Obama gets elected and all of a sudden, it's OMG A HUGH!!!!! Problem - THE ONLY problem and here we go; a boot to the neck of the people who can least afford it again.

Ah well, at least they are consistent. But Charlie Brown sure does fall for Lucy's trick every time, doesn't he! Maybe there's something to be said for all this consistency.

If people haven't wizened up to their ways before this, I hold no hope they ever will.

The president and the Congress (especially the congress) are simply paralyzed by the sheer magnitude of the real problems facing our country and the planet, so they just make up crisis after crisis to avoid dealing with things like global warming and a dilapidated infrastructure.
