Disabled veterans don't want their benefits tied to chained-CPI.

Just sayin'

They don't.

Nobody whose benefits are affected by CPI accounting methods has come out for making a change.

And there are a lot of things in the government tied to CPI (however calculated)

Lots and lots.

And the time to change the accounting is during a de facto depression... a freakishly low-inflation period like that of today.

Such changes would be INTOLERABLE in an inflationary environment, but in a world where there has been no COLA adjustment at all in two of the last 4-5 years such a change appears modest.

Meaning, none of us should be looking forward to the chained CPI.
