Yep, folks, immediately after declaring a great thing in Mark Sanford being nominated for

a return to office, those same people are saying what a scumbag Anthony Weiner is and that he should never run for office ever again.

Proof that the intellectual disconnect is alive and well in Repugs.

Wouldn't surprise me if they slobber over Gingrich and Herman Cain endorsing Sanford, if it came to that.

Actually, I don't know how either of them show their faces in public ever again, but that's just me, I guess. If you can't fucking control yourself, go the fuck away and stop insisting that you are fit to lead. Edit to add: This goes for you too, General "All In" Petraeus.

Sanford was having a affair with another consenting adult.

Weiner was sending pictures of his junk to women who had not requested such pictures.

Or at least that's why I consider Weiner worse than Sanford. The GOP is just being partisan.

Consider the two offenses:

1) Despite a marital agreement for mutual monogamy, your spouse cheats on you.
2) Someone who is not your spouse sends you salacious pictures.

Which act would generally be considered more upsetting? Which would be a more significant breach of morality?

You're right that Sanford's Argentinian paramour gave her consent, but I don't see that as being particularly important.
