63 pit bulls from SE Idaho dog-fighting compound arrive at the Idaho Humane Society

The Idaho Humane Society on Monday evening received 63 pit bull dogs from Oneida County in southeastern Idaho.

The dogs are from an apparent dog-fighting compound on a property where a triple homicide occurred Thursday near Holbrook.

The animals are in very poor condition, according to the Humane Society. The majority of the dogs are underweight and suffer from malnutrition and many of the dogs have open lacerations and extensive scarring from old wounds. Others are suffering from skin, eye and ear ailments. A few dogs have old injuries of broken bones that were left untreated.

Despite their obvious neglect and poor treatment, Humane Society handlers found the majority of the dogs to be friendly and accepting of handling by people, said Hannah Parpart with the Humane Society. Further behavioral evaluations will be completed once the dogs' more pressing medical needs have been addressed.

Subhuman scum is the only way I can describe the filth that did this to these dogs.

There seems to be nothing some people won't do to get it. The tragedy of the human condition, perhaps.

be to take the breeders, trainers, and the folks who go to dog fights and divide them into pairs, put them into pits out of which they cannot climb, and have them go at it, tooth and nail. Roman gladiators comes to mind.

They should starve the breeders etc to death...then put a chain around their neck that makes it impossible to reach that plate of food in the middle of the arena. Next, take another group of breeders, starve them to death and place them on the opposite side in chains.

Remind them that if either group somehow messes up the plate of food, there will be no replacement dish.
