Statement 1) The OP only said he had to fill out the form and transfer to an FFL contrary
to what he said he heard here and on the news.

Statement 2) You make the presumption without evidence that the transfer was
interstate and that the FFL was required for that reason.

I guess my question is: What about the OP leads you to believe the transfer was interstate?

not sure where the "no background checks on internet sales" comes from. Every gun auction site and forum "for sale" I have ever seen requires sellers to ship to out of state sellers via an FFL. I have bought and sold a few over the years in this way and have found every seller requires this and every buyer expects it..Just another half truth or outright lie from gun controllers which insures nothing will change...don't know why these people can't just be honest about shit..."gun show loophole"...not about gun shows and not a loophole by anyone's definition..how about calling it what it is...something like 'private sale exemption'? Telling lies when the truth would work better..

on the internet still requires use of an FFL if the buyer and seller live in different states..a private seller shipping a gun to a non-FFL buyer in another state has violated federal law and is subject to up to 10 years in Federal prison. The question is why the dishonesty? Why not call it 'private owner sales' rather than the fictitious "gun show loophole" or stating (a lie) that internet sales aren't subject to background checks nonsense? What is the purpose of confusing the issue at virtually every single turn?

Duh.

and every sale they make at the gun show requires a background check..There is only one kind of sale which does not require a background check...just one, contrary to proclamations by big gun control, these are intrastate sales between two people who are both residents of the same state when the seller is not engaged in the business of selling firearms...all of these other silly claims all come back to this same type of sale..people who don't follow this issue are naturally confused into believing all kinds of falsehoods entirely because of big gun control's inability to simply tell the truth..

Statement of Purpose for the General Discussion forum:

Discuss politics, issues, and current events. No posts about Israel/Palestine, religion, guns, showbiz, or sports unless there is really big news. No conspiracy theories. No whining about DU.

Status of "big news" exceptions:

Guns: The ongoing national debate over gun laws that has occurred since Sandy Hook is big news; discussion of gun control and related issues is currently permitted in GD. Gun porn, local gun-crime stories, and other narrowly-focused gun topics are not permitted.

Purchased through a dealer in another state. Followed all current laws. I live alone and they are secured when not in use. I have over 20 years of military training and have completed my state required CCL training. The only thing I shoot or ever plan on shooting is paper targets at the range. Worked good for me for the last 30+ years and I have not killed anyone.
