Note: John Cooke is my sheriff. He and failed senate candidate Ken Buck got themselves smacked by the state Supreme Court for confiscating and trolling through tax records at a tax preparation service that catered primarily to Hispanics. Cooke also views himself to be exempt from the term limits by which everyone else must abide. Setting himself above the law is nothing new to him.

He was also instrumental in forcing the ouster of the Republican Greeley mayor who had the temerity to go to DC to speak to Congress about the possibility of more humane policies toward undocumented immigrants following the raid on our meatpacking plant that drew national attention; and Cooke very much had his hand in that raid with its brutality and warrant violations. Cooke also had a hand in choosing the next mayor, a rightwing school security guard with a record of drawing his weapon against unarmed students. Cooke is married to northern Colorado radio personality Amy Oliver, an Ann Coulter wannabe, pictured here in one of her publicity photos. Such is the rightwing wild west mentality we go up against 24/7/365, not to mention how fun it is during election season.
