http://www.labornotes.org/events/2013/new-york-troublemakers-school

Saturday, May 18
9 a.m. – 4 p.m.

The High School for Health Professions and Human Services,
345 E 15th St, Manhattan (between 1st and 2nd Aves.)

Layoffs, union-busting, and slash-and-burn budgets are squeezing working people. A growing number of rank-and-file union members and community activists are rebuilding solidarity and fighting back together.

Join us for a day of skill-building workshops and strategy discussions to put some movement back in the labor movement.
Workshops and Panels

Beating Apathy
Running for Union Office
Assertive Grievance Handling
Roots of the Public Sector Budget Crisis
Community Alliance-Building Done Right
Contract Campaigns That Win

This school will be a great opportunity for union members, stewards, and community activists to share strategies that are working in this difficult economic environment—and critical skills for building solidarity and union power in New York and beyond.
