A New Democratic Agenda
End the "war on terrorism". Bring our troops home and cut the voracious appetite of the defense industry. Put our people to work rebuilding our infrastructure. Stop the "testing" for political purposes and start educating our children. Create a healthcare system that works for all our people. Cut the salaries of politicians and reform the campaign financing of elections and guarantee the right of every citizen to vote without hindrance or roadblocks. Reform the tax system to rebuild the middle class in this country. Break up the banks and the oil companies and regulate the pharmaceutical industry. Start talking about the poor and homeless and build shelters as part of an infrastructure initiative. Raise the minimum wage to $12 per hour. Communicate with the people instead of the corporations. This is just for starters.
