Michael Bloomberg group’s gun-control scorecard will give lawmakers letter grades

Michael Bloomberg group’s gun-control scorecard will give lawmakers letter grades

New York Mayor Michael R. Bloomberg, one of the nation’s most committed and deep-pocketed gun-control proponents, is ratcheting up pressure on lawmakers by launching a new system to grade them based on their votes and statements on gun issues.

Mayors Against Illegal Guns, the nonprofit group financed by Bloomberg (I), will unveil a scoring system Tuesday to award lawmakers grades of A through F, much like the National Rifle Association, which has derived much of its power by deploying letter rankings against politicians at election time. The group’s strategists briefed The Washington Post on the plans ahead of Tuesday’s announcement.

“For decades, the NRA has done an admirable job of tracking to minute detail how members of Congress stand on gun bills. We’ve simply decided to do the same,” said Mark Glaze, director of Mayors Against Illegal Guns, which is chaired by Bloomberg and is made up of more than 900 mayors from across the country.

This is Bloomberg’s latest move to establish his organization as a counterweight to the influential NRA and to create legislative momentum on Capitol Hill around President Obama’s proposals to toughen the nation’s gun laws.

The candidates that are the biggest NRA voice pieces, have the most blood on their hands

It is about time the NRA met its match.

And for each incident daily, that means more and more blood on their hands.

As for people who deride Mike for his wellness, and call him a Nanny, well, those same people must have wanted George Bailey to jump and drown unimpeded by Clarence the Authoritian Nanny that saved him.

And there should be made WANTED POSTERS in towns across America for the worst of the worst.
Sort of like-WANTED for aiding and abetting in the deaths of (and then list all the names of each and every person that died from a gun in the last 30 days prior to when the posters are put up. PUBLIC ENEMY #1 to #100.

Too bad this wasn't done 200 years ago and then the insanity that is the guns and bullets in the hands of private citizens, never would have happened.

Remember, this is not about a nanny, not about an authoritarian, the haters are all about their guns little and small, and their bullets 1 to a million.
All it takes is one bullet to kill one person and any private persons gun at any time, is the vessel to possibly do so.
There is NEVER a gun that is 100% safe that is used in any NRA soundbyte.
(of course, if guns are stored in an area so safe that no one can get to it, well then,
how would that gun be of any use for NRA soundbyte #235.32B paragraph C where they say they need it in the middle of the night when someone walks in.
Yeah, like they would be able to after the person is standing over them, to go to their safe room, and get it.
Hardy Har Har Har.

(not the soundyte # is just for effect...there is no actual NRA soundbyte book,
though someone can take my idea and write a best seller if they choose).

George Bailey and the angel, Clarence... compared to... well, almost everyone... and Michael Bloomberg. This has got to be satire, there's no way someone can actually make that comparison stick because there are no similarities between Clarence the angel and Mike Bloomberg the rich asshole.

By the way, this rating system of bloomie's will be as much of a boon as a detraction for more than a few. My Senator, Bernie Sanders will surely get a bad grade from the mayor; it won't hurt him a whit.

Just like Kucinich.
Both are players on the team while in office.

Like in a football game, some do fake outs to distract the opposition
while the quarterback goes up the middle to score.

the comparison to Kucinich is gloriously ignorant. Just like so much of what you post. Bernie has scored repeatedly with legislation, genius. Why don't you fucking do any research before you spout off and make a complete jack--- of yourself?
