Somehow WE have to spread humanity and mercy, otherwise WE don't deserve to exist

THEY will never provide the solution. WE must create the solution.

Witnesses: Injured driver robbed after crash in Detroit

By Maurielle Lue

DETROIT (WJBK) - Video shows despicable behavior, witnesses to a brutal crash on Detroit's east side robbing the wounded driver. Some people called 911 for help, but others just helped themselves.

"This guy came up to him and just like started patting his pockets and stuff and shaking him. They like robbed him," a witness said.

"He probably stole like $7,000 to $10,000 from him, a cell phone, like a brand new Rolex. Like he stole his gun, too, and just walked off."

Police said the driver of the BMW was shot in the head by his passenger.

I cannot control what others do. I can control what -I- do.

So many people have surrendered to the theft and mayhem and murder in this world. They have bought into the idea that change has to be external, and since THOSE powerful people are not changing, they might as well surrender.

WE must quit enabling the predators - be they bankers and politicians, or street thugs. WE must push for jobs as police officers and prosecutors (when qualified). WE must run for public office instead of merely complaining about who is there now. WE must name names and detail charges, instead of just saying "banksters need to go to jail".

Otherwise, it is NOT going to happen.

according to the article, the driver was shot by his passenger who took off. THEN, folks looted the body and car.

It will be okay that the looting happened because he had a fancy car, watch, cash...nothing to do with the original crime. Because shit, we passed judgment on the victim without any facts.

Humanity and mercy? LOL, only on our best days here. And those are more rare than they should be.

DU doesn't always make me proud, but your perception of us is so far from the truth I have to wonder why you take such a dim, and unfair, view. You accuse DUers of not being objective but... I think it might be you suffering from that malady.

Some will certainly not care all that much. I know I am certainly not outraged. I am outraged by the poverty and desperation.

Desperate people do things that even they find disturbing, but they do it anyway. Why would desperate people care about some dead rich guy?

To still care is a luxury for some. There are pockets, in many cities, that people can not afford caring. If they care, they can not do what they must to survive. They are the ones that have fallen through the cracks.

Luckily those pockets are small, but saddens me to think/know they exist.

And I believe that many people do not realize just how close to that abyss they really are. People say they would never do this or that, but when panic and desperation set in then anything goes -- and the price, all too often, is self loathing you cannot afford to carry but carry anyway.
