Teabaggers are angry because they care ... about something.

Probably not anyone besides themselves and their immediate family and the rightwing noise machine version of what they've been told America is and should be, but they wouldn't get all worked up about it if they didn't care.

Was Rachel talking about Rethug politicians and/or the One Percent who bought them? They care about their own overblown sense of self-importance and about cold hard cash ... but I gotta agree that doesn't make them a caring person.

4. About other people

...I've held to the idea for years that republicans believe people in general are basically violent, greedy, dishonest, and lazy. In other words, they don't think much of most people, though they usually have a small group of friends and family and "good folk" they make an exception for. Of course, if that's how you feel, then the repug ideology makes perfect sense.

On the other hand, most democrats (and I) believe people in general are peaceful, generous, trustworthy, and hard-working. People are basically good, and we don't have to raise up artificial divisions and barriers between "good people" and "the rest". I'm happy to meet and talk to anybody from anywhere, and though I am very fond of my family and my locale (most of the time), I wish for the best for people everywhere. Of course, the repug ideology makes no sense whatsoever!

Those two ways of looking at things are demonstrated over and over, on issues large and small, and they have pretty well held up and proven themselves over the years. Maddow puts it most simply, and well.

It's about losing hope that we can make a difference in a system that has become so corrupted.
