My message and FB post to the DCCC...

For some reason, it doesn't show up on the FB thread to which I replied. However, a few friends responded to it, so it apparently made it out there somehow. I re-sent it to them, and re-posted, but I still can't find it on the DCCC page. That kind of convinces me they've actually seen it. This was my post, in it's entirety...

----

I have contributed to the DCCC for years, including this one. I am also a member of the DGA. I have worked tirelessly for years on Democratic/Progressive causes both independently and as an employee of a leading Democratic advertising/advocacy company. I fully support(ed) President Obama...but if you sell out the American people with Chained CPI and more capitulation to the recalcitrant GOP House leadership regarding Social Security and Medicare, you've lost me.

Why is the cap on SS payroll tax off the table? Why is EVERYTHING important to the people who elected Mr. Obama OFF THE TABLE, while the GOP continues to benefit from our "compromises?" Elections used to have consequences. Now, not so much.

I don't know where I'll go, but I know I WON'T be with the current form of the Democratic Party. And I know I'm not alone.

----

Oh well. I don't expect a response, but at least I won't have to be sending them any more money.

I sent them a nearly identical letter-no response (didn't expect one--which is part of my complaint).
I'm done with DCCC/DSCC etc---The Status Quo has run its course..at least for me.... I don't support everyone that "slaps a D" beside their name. Not every Dem votes according to their constituents desires and they ignore the Party Platform...imo.
I do still support Progressives whos votes reflect who they work For.

They'll ask for take our donations and then call us whining, retarded liberal irritants.
For me? Only their Votes matter. Their votes identify them, frames their beliefs, who they work for and who they consider their base is.

Giving the other side what they want on the assumption that they won't take what you are offering.

That's Keystone Cops politics.

The Republicans will agree to increases in revenues so long as they are not tax rate increases. I can see them agreeing to limitations on the exclusion of health benefits from taxable income, tighter limits on the mortgage interest deduction, reductions in the earned income credit, as well as reductions in other tax expenditures that benefit middle income families.

Probably the quickest thing they would agree to is some form of partial amnesty for corporations and wealthy individuals holding cash overseas. By lowering their tax rates for repatriating that money, they could actually (temporarily) increase revenues by giving the rich a big tax cut.

Don't think an agreement can't be reached. If there was no possibility of this happening, I don't think the President would have included it in his opening offer. He doesn't strike me as the kind of man who plays games.
