A Facebook campaign has been launched following the death of Baroness Thatcher to make Judy Garland song 'Ding Dong! The Witch is Dead' number one.

Members posted a link to the song and urged people to download it in a bid to send it rocketing to the top of the charts.

It features in the 1939 musical The Wizard of Oz and is sung by Dorothy, played by Judy Garland, the Munchkins and Glinda the Good Witch, played by Billie Burke.

They sing it as they celebrate the death of the Wicked Witch of the East after Dorothy "dropped a house on her".

The lyrics...

DING DONG! THE WITCH IS DEAD
Munchkins;
Ding Dong! The Witch is dead. Which old Witch? The Wicked Witch!
Ding Dong! The Wicked Witch is dead.
Wake up - sleepy head, rub your eyes, get out of bed.
Wake up, the Wicked Witch is dead. She's gone where the goblins go,
Below - below - below. Yo-ho, let's open up and sing and ring the bells out.
Ding Dong' the merry-oh, sing it high, sing it low.
Let them know
The Wicked Witch is dead!
Mayor;
As Mayor of the Munchkin City, In the County of the Land of Oz, I welcome you most regally.
Barrister;
But we've got to verify it legally, to see
Mayor;
To see?
Barrister;
If she
Mayor;
If she?
Barrister;
Is morally, ethic'lly
Father No.1;
Spiritually, physically
Father No. 2;
Positively, absolutely
Munchkins;
Undeniably and reliably Dead
Coroner;
As Coroner I must aver, I thoroughly examined her.
And she's not only merely dead, she's really most sincerely dead.
Mayor;
Then this is a day of Independence For all the Munchkins and their descendants
Barrister;
If any.
Mayor;
Yes, let the joyous news be spread The wicked Old Witch at last is dead!

I lived in England in the 70s and 80s and watched her destroy the country the way her BF Reagan did to this one.

I posted this on FB: I refuse to shed a tear for her passing. I cried enough for the Brits who lost their homes, their jobs and died of AIDS because of her. She can go straight to hell.

human with flaws. She did what she thought was right. She was no Saint just like Ronnie. The Press and Right try to make her one. They mourn her passing but many who she offended don't. I doubt President Obama even knew her but he gets caught up in this nostalgia crap. She is a hero of the Reagonites. So they want to build her legacy just like with him. They both rode in on their white horses and single handledy destroyed the Soviet Union for freedom if you believe it.
