I had not heard those two facts before the show.....good god.

The segments were so sad.....The politicians in DC have moved on....the money has flowed in to their cofers.....what will it take for this country to regain its sanity on this issue?

our kids, our schools and our teachers, shame on all of us. The least each of us can do, is insist on a multipronged approach to solving this problem. Doing nothing has brought these families to this life they never asked for.

They all did a fine job during the interviews.

And what hurts even more is that it may all be in vain as it appears we will get nothing major passed nationally on gun control thanks to the power of the NRA. Hopefully the media will keep this story alive so that the public will become and remain engaged. Otherwise, I am very concerned that this story will simply fade away and those parents- and the loved ones of the millions of others senselessly murdered by guns will remain in the shadows with absolutely no change in the law. Which in itself would be a crime.

Nothing will change regarding gun control and more children and adults will be slaughtered. Heartbreaking and shameful.

At least the parents said they weren't going away.

Their descriptions of trying to find their children and then being taken into the "back room"..... OMG. My heart just weeps for these families. I am a teacher and know how precious each child is.

And then I got angry at the politicians who are too damn timid, indebted, thick-skulled, whatever, to DO something already. Good for those CT legislators, but why did it have to get to this point before they passed legislation. And I fear that their state laws will be challenged on constitutionality. It makes me crazy.

Our great Colorado congresswoman is being destroyed by the gun nuts for her proposal to limit high-capacity magazines and the news is now saying now that Congress will back off background check legislation.

11. I don't know why, but some days Newtown feels worse than 9/11.

I can't fully explain why either. But I can cry instantaneously about Newtown whereas 9/11 just seemed so surreal, even though I lived right across from the Twin Towers, in Brooklyn.

this. The NRA and its ilk want Americans to buy into the BS that nothing substantial can be done. Nonsense. We are not going to stand for this anymore. This Congress and any other is not going to sell the lives of kids in schools for the sake of their political campaign contributions. So Congress can get off their collective dead asses and start the process of reversing the current perversion of the 2nd Amendment by the Gun lobby.

Not our kids.

Parents of America
