because this country has a nasty habit of changing the president's party after each administration.

We will desperately need a Democratic Congress to counter the next lunatic the Republicans and low information voters put in there.

If Hillary starts trying to lock up support, starts showing up in NH and Iowa, throwing money around and fundraising, flexing muscles, etc., then for those of us who don't want Hillary, we are compelled to respond.

...most people I know pay little to no attention to the news yet go searching out a message board. I'd venture to say a large majority of people who voted last year are busy with their day-to-day lives to show the same poutrage I see here regarding the proposed proposed proposals that still haven't been officially proposed and that they're not even thinking about two months from now than staying home from an election 18 month or 3 years away.

What all the catfighting around here is doing is ruining what was once a fine place to get the latest news along with some insightful discussion. If there's a demoralization or fatigue its from all the angst and antagonism around here that has driven many good people away...

Now back to my DU "vacation"...

They look like kernels of popcorn.

That said we need to get voters to the polls in 2014 in crazy numbers to stop these rethugs the organized crime party of this country. I live in San Francisco and feel hopeless we can stop middle and our southern states from destroying this country. These low information or fox brain dead are stopping this country from moving forward.

Yeah, not as much fun as a Presidential election but in fact, far, far, far, more important. I've joined up with Howard Dean on his plan to work on the state legislative area. I think that we have neglected that for far too long at our peril.

We do not need another 3rd Way, Republican Lite, Right of Center, as President, anyway.
DU is supposed to be a Democratic Center and Left of Center political message board. What is with all the support and excuses for Conservative values around here? Stop it already!

That said we need to retake control at the State level, State legislatures and governors, to stop the gerrymandering, so we can have honest elections and then we can control of both houses of Congress to get our country back on course.
Then we can worry about who to run for President. Preferable, someone Center or Left of Center - The REAL Center, not this perceived center between the Right Wing, Tea swilling lemmings running off the cliff and the 3rd Way Democrats, running them, to fill in the gap.
