(13,485 posts)It's been around for, oh, a thousand years or so. Solid iron bars with a 12lb pad lock. It works. Of course you don't get out much either.

These underwear reinforce the idea of mutual consent when it comes to sex.
Rapists do not respect consent or women.
Some politicians don't respect consent or women.
It's about reinforcing the person's CONSENT.Which is thier right to say no and make NO clearly understood.

(13,485 posts)What I am saying is that it is ironic in a sad and historic way that it has come to this. For women to feel the need for devices such as this for safety is utterly sad. It's a human tragedy in many ways. I am sorry to be so completely naïve but I cannot fathom any human being forcing another human being to do anything. It's beyond my ability to perceive. I do not doubt that many or even most women feel unsafe because of horrible acts committed against women. I, as a man, cannot understand why this happens. But my feeling is that the problem is not innate in men as much as corruption of social behavior among humans and this patriarchal society in general. I don't want to get off post so I wont continue. I just hope my previous reply was not disrespectful. It was crass due to the irony but not meant to be offensive.

A more practical pair of underwear would text the user that it was time to take a shower and do some laundry.
