That's a mix, he contends, that will provide long-term deficit reduction without harming the economy.
In his first comments about the 2014 spending blueprint he's set to release Wednesday, Obama said he intends to reduce deficits and provide new money for public works projects, early education and job training.
"We don't have to choose between these goals we can do both," Obama said in his weekly radio and Internet address, broadcast Saturday.

To me, it seems like we have two economies: the labor economy, where people trade money for goods and services, and the money economy, which is basically the Wall Street casino. I'll admit I'm no economist, but it seems to be that the labor economy is likely to be far more stable than the money economy, but the money economy is the big-ass tail waving the dog. That will not end well.

Crapping on the poor and the elderly merits a "not ideal" rejoinder.
I have better verbiage, Mr. President. How about unconscionable and inhumane.

(92,142 posts)However, everyone is soooooooo concerned about the deficits, HOW ABOUT jobs. CAN we forget about the deficits for just one minute until people are WORKING PLEASE?
Funny how reagan and the republicans motto was that deficits don't mean anything. Well, they were warned back then when reagan helped pave the country onto the road of financial ruin by increasing defense, and getting rid of regulation, and except for a few lone voices like stockman and others, not a word.
Now when we need to get the economy and jobs back this is the "number" one concern?
