"American Winter" & "A Place at the Table" (must-see documentaries)

I haven't yet seen A Place at the Table but intend to. Yesterday I watched American Winter. I HIGHLY, HIGHLY recommend watching if you're able.

While A Place at the Table focuses on hunger and food insecurity, American Winter does an excellent job covering various aspects of poverty. It specifically addresses not only the policy changes which resulted in this epidemic in the US, but also the whole societal "welfare queen" meme that lies at the heart of the unnecessary shame and despair experienced by those living, working and attending school in poverty.

I wish every citizen (especially Fox News types), and every single politician would see it. At present the producers have a short-term exclusive with HBO but have a kickstarter campaign to raise funds for outreach when they can share it beyond HBO. I'm in touch with the creators, wanting to help them spread the word.

This should be required viewing in pertinent high school and college courses, imho, and viewings in public libraries is another way to have more see the documentary. The modern approach of hosting home screenings tends to be preaching to the choir, in my experience.

If you can help their kickstarter campaign, that would be great.
