REPUBLICAN REPRESENTATIVE MIKE REYNOLDS CALLS STUDENTS POTENTIAL IRRELEVANT
Below is an email exchange that was a call for help from State Rep. James Lockhart (D) Heavener who requested help from his colleagues at the Oklahoma State Capitol, but was greeted with an extremely anti-education response from Rep. Mike Reynolds (R) Oklahoma City.

No but we sure give out tax credits to a lot of companies that I question whether or not they actually need them. Over 5 billion each year!
What we are seeing is the first generation of Americans who will earn less than the previous, be less educated, earn less and have less access to healthcare.
Basically we are doing a poor job of improving the lives of the people we represent. That is pretty clear in the fact that most people think we either dont care about them or are unable to do something about improving their standard of living.
I am here to try to improve the quality of life of the average person in however small a way possible.
I would suggest you do the same
James Lockhart

Their GPA, ACT ASAB, determination have nothing to do with who is responsible. Their potential to benefit society is irrelevant.

(21,741 posts)As a matter of fact, we could save as much money as Somalia saves on eliminating all this fluff every year. We could totally eliminate our deficit in a matter of about 6 months if we just all agree to live like any other third world country. All we would ever spend money on would be bombs and guns for war.
Wouldn't that be just a dream come true for Mike Reynolds and all of his fellow Republicans?

(25,111 posts)Besides Europe, cleaning out religious foes that didn't worship the way their respective countries wanted, many religious sectors had to flee to the Americas just for freedom to worship. Also, many criminals were sent to the Americas as well. So there you have it, a combination of religious sectors searching for religious freedoms, criminals that Europe did not want, and others who just wanted freedom and a new adventure.
This country was not founded on Christian beliefs but founded on "freedom".

(75,480 posts)educated work force is beneficial to them. I don't think we should be paying for education to provide them with such a work force. It's time corporations paid a special tax specifically targeted to education through university and grad school because they will be the major beneficiaries of the results of educating the best and brightest not just the richest. But those Repubs are too short-sighted and stupid to see this.
