Lapka Environmental Monitor. Do these really work?

Lapka is a tiny, beautifully designed personal environment monitor that connects to your phone to measure and analyze the hidden qualities of your surroundings. With the four included sensors you can test radiation levels around you, detect electromagnetic fields, test produce for harmful nitrates, or gauge the humidity in your home. Once you’ve got the data, use the Lapka App to compare it to average guidelines for each individual environment. You can even collect snapshots of your comfort throughout the day and share via social media. Reveal the unseen world with Lapka.

If only the EPA would buy a bunch of these and hire volunteers to share data across the country. nt Comrade_McKenzie Apr 2013 #1

what would really be useful is a monitor that will measure VOCs. You need to know about formaldehyde, flame retardants, chlorine, pesticides and herbicides, petroleum products. off-gassing from hobby and art supplies, etc.
