For those who might want to give up their guns, is there any plan

to destroy them, like smelt them down for the metal? My DH and I gave up our guns a couple of decades ago, but we found it hard to dispose of them responsibly back then. I think part of making this a gun responsible nation is getting some of the more lethal and unnecessary for hunting or self-protection weapons out of circulation.

...and I should not have to eat that cost, since I haven't done anything wrong. So, the ones I am getting rid of will be by sale through an FFL dealer.

I am only talking about the military grade assault weapons, that serve no practical purpose except to kill people, not all guns.

...so I don't have any of those. Unless you are including pistols, then I have two. I use them for target shooting, so they do have a purpose besides killing people.

4. I wasn't talking about pistols, just the ratatatat automatic weapons.

DH and I never owned those kind of weapons. We liked to target shoot too, but stopped doing so when my husband became ill. That's when we decided to get rid of our weapons.

One needs a special, Federal permit for one of those and it is hard to qualify for one. I certainly don't have a Federal permit and, therefore, no machine guns. Would not get one if I could. There's nowhere around here to use one and it would be really expensive if I did.

Just don't bring them into the station. (Safety issue)
I have no idea what the police do with them afterward.

and take them out of circulation altogether. I'm not talking about all guns just the ones that can be used in mass killings and are pretty much not useful for anything else.

where they might pay you $50 to turn in a gun. But I would imagine that you could turn them over to a PD anytime if you're just looking to rid yourself of one.

I'd like them all to be melted down and turned into bassinettes, but have no idea what they do with them after the buyback.

Who just told me that if there's a law in the city/state, they are supposed to be destroyed.

However, his station used to put them in the police armory for police use.
