2016 - more of the same?

As we sit here and watch the Democratic President playing into the GOP narrative on Social Security and proposing a clearly RW "solution" to a non-existent problem, I want to ask DUers a serious question:

Do we want more of the same from the Democratic nominee in 2016?

More privatization? More civil rights violations? More XLs, NAFTA on steroids, more drones, more attacks on Unions, more 1% tax deals, more cuts to the social contracts, more "neolib" rightward drift of a once-great Party?

If the answer is "no", then we'd better get serious about finding and funding a progressive candidate, because right now it is looking like "more of the same" in 2016.

We've got maybe 2 years max to see her voting record and how she handles her office before she would need to step in the race. Right now, I would prefer her a hundred times over current front runner Hillary.

I've been pretty impressed with him and hope that he steps into the race. I would love to see a large number of progressives running, if nothing else to force a change the direction of the conversation, and to show/offer a real difference to Blue Dog/Third Way/neoliberalism.

She'll be brought down in the media by the Warren Torrent.

Or maybe the Elizabeth Syllabus.

There's another one I would love to see run again. He voice would be an important one in the debate.

REALLY fucked up many state elections and set the teahad loose upon the land.

We'd be living in a very different Wisconsin if the base hadn't been demoralized by the pitiable performance of DCdems

a ground up move on choosing candidates. DCdems -- for the most part -- are hugely disappointing. Time to make the case to "fuck DC" and elect Peoples candidates on ALL levels, starting with local.

Here in SF we have our "Democratic" candidate for Mayor appointed for us by the State Party. It is infuriating every time it happens -- the real, locally-oriented Dem candidates don't have the cash/megaphone to break through the huge Media Wall created by the Party.
