I read what he said several times, and the "taking it to heart" in my title speaks loudly to my own self.

I grew up with Roger, Chicago guys. Roger Ebert is first and foremost a hero. A class act that made me proud to be a liberal. Proud of Chicago. Folks we have lost a great one. Please read about him, This country lost a hero, and icon. We are are a lesser country with Roger Eberts passing.

and he has shown us the way to be a Mensch. His humanity spoke volumes, and lives on in our hearts if we just listen and learn.

His courage with cancer, he did not hide, in spite of the way he looked, he did not hide, he did not shy from the camera, he when I saw Roger, I saw a great proud liberal American. His face was beautiful !
